More About Susan
Susan teaches the teen group at her church, where she has spent the last three years developing a comprehensive curriculum on biblical Creation. Having spent her youth in secular education, years of God’s leading has given her a thirst for wisdom and a conviction of the value of real education. Her recent master’s degree combines her love of history, art, and the bible, giving her a thorough academic grounding as well as the skills to open the fascinating world of Christian art history for others. Success for her is an engaged student growing in both wisdom and knowledge – a banner day is when one asks ‘why’! To encourage thoughtful answers, she asks a lot of questions.
Susan enjoys walking her dog by the sea and watching the changing colours of the sky. She is proudly fluent in Cat, Dog, Horse and Baby. Unfortunately, these are less useful in another favourite activity – travelling – where she must challenge herself to order coffee in the local language. Her preferred destination is anywhere with a medieval cathedral, where she stands in awe feeding her soul until dragged out by family or staff. She is enthralled by illuminated manuscripts, especially ones crawling with dragons. She loves a good story and is on a mission to redeem her early secular education with excellent literature; she reads everything from Dante and Chaucer to Austen and Lewis. Alternatively, she loves a good story in the form of movie night with her family.
Susan Murray will be tutoring Art History Year 1.
