Cambridge Combined Science Year 2

For Autumn 2025 Enrolment

iGCSE Combined Science Year 2 continues from Year 1 of Cambridge iGCSE Combined Science, covering biology, chemistry, and physics. Students will explore key scientific principles and how they apply to real-world problems.

Topics include gas exchange, respiration, reproduction, ecosystems, rates of reaction, the periodic table, wave properties, circuits, and electricity. We will also develop critical thinking and experimental skills while considering how science can be used to serve others and glorify God.

iGCSE Combined Science

Combined Science is the perfect class for students seeking a balanced understanding of all three sciences. It will be beneficial for those who are unsure of which science to study. We will cover the core concepts of biology, chemistry, and physics as we follow the Cambridge iGCSE Combined Science course.

This course is also eligible for USA High School Diploma & Transcript credit.  Students successfully completing this course will receive 1 high school science credit.

Cambridge Combined Science Year 2 Course Details

In the class, we will complete the Cambridge Combined Science Year 2 curriculum over the course of 30 weeks in our live online sessions.

Day & Time: Mondays 12:30-2 pm GMT (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in between.)

Location: Zoom Meeting

Tutor: Hannah Smith

Required Materials:

• Cambridge Combined Science text
• This scientific calculator (or similar)

Pre-requisites:  Completion of Combined Science Year 1 or equivalent.

iGCSE Combined Science Live, Online Class Topics Covered

During our live online classes and weekly homework, we will answer a wide range of questions such as:

• ‘What makes something a living thing?’
• ‘What influence do humans have on the natural world?’
• ‘What makes a solid a solid?’
• ‘Where do our fuels come from?’
• ‘What is energy?’
• ‘What is the solar system?’.

We will also continue to develop a greater understanding of the scientific method and how to think like a scientist. We will learn about how discoveries are made and how they are used and can be used for the glory of God.
