In the class, we will complete the Edexcel iGCSE Biology Year 1 curriculum over the course of 30 weeks in our live online sessions.
Age: 13-17
Day & Time: Wednesdays 2:30-4 pm GMT (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in between.)
Location: Zoom Meeting
Tutor: Hannah Smith
Required Materials:
Pre-requisites: Needs to be confident in maths and working at an iGCSE or equivalent level. KS3 Science or the equivalent.
This course is also eligible for USA High School Diploma & Transcript credit. Students successfully completing this course will receive 1 high school math credit.

In 2026-27, the Biology Year 2 curriculum will be taught. Watch this video to understand how Years 1 & 2 are structured.
iGCSE Biology Year 1 introduces students to the study of living organisms and the processes that sustain life. We will follow the Edexcel iGCSE Biology syllabus, covering topics such as cell biology, enzymes, plant and animal nutrition, respiration, and the principles of genetics.
Through engaging lessons and discussions, students will gain a deeper appreciation of the intricate design of life. We will also explore how biological knowledge can be applied to care for creation and benefit others.

iGCSE Biology Year 1 Live, Online Class Topics Covered
Through engaging lessons and discussions, students will gain a deeper appreciation of the intricate design of life. Through live online class sessions and weekly homework, we will also explore how biological knowledge can be applied to care for creation and benefit others.
The Edexcel iGCSE Biology syllabus covers topics we will explore, including:
- Cell Biology
- Enzymes
- Plant and animal nutrition
- Respiration and
- The principles of genetics
We will also develop an understanding of the scientific method and how to think like a scientist. We will learn about how discoveries are made and how they are used, and can be used for the glory of God.
