iGCSE Maths: Year 1

For Autumn 2025 Enrolment

This iGCSE Maths year 1 course is taught through live online classes, with a tutor, with a background in mathematical physics. The  30-week class consists of two weekly online classes lasting 40 mins each. In class, we will cover the course content for the iGCSE mathematics edexcel (9-1) curriculum.

Day & Time: Mondays 09:30 – 10:10 AM GMT and Thursdays 09:30-10:10 AM GMT (Two 40-minute sessions each week.)

Location: Zoom Meeting

Tutor: Emma Cummings

Prerequisite: Pre-iGCSE Maths or similar

Required Materials:

• Hodder Edexcel textbook
• this scientific calculator (or similar),
• Maths kit (includes ruler, protractor, and compass)
• Graph paper
• Square Paper
• Tracing Paper
• Math Facts Helps (optional)

iGCSE Maths: Year 1 Live, Online Class

Classes will be interactive, and due to the live nature of the classes, they will be tailored to the individual needs of the students. We will use a number of interactive technologies to help gain an understanding of the concepts of mathematics.  Maths games will also be included to help engage students in learning.

We understand maths can be a challenge for many students, and that it can induce a lot of anxiety. Emma is a gentle instructor, with empathy towards those struggling with maths.

We will go over a lot of examples, and students will have the opportunity to bring their problems to the class, as well as contact the tutor through the week with their problems.

This class, iGCSE Maths Year 1 is the first year of two years covering the iGCSE curriculum. Read more about the course content here.
