iGCSE Physics Year 1

This class is open for January 2025 enrolment.

In the first semester of iGCSE Physics, students learned about forces, motion, moments, and basic circuits. The second semester starts with current voltage, and static electricity.

We want this class to be a good fit for your teen. Please contact us and confirm your teen is ready for what will be covered in 2nd semester prior to purchasing this second semester-only course.

The appropriate discount (if any) will be given at that time.

This iGCSE Physics Year 1 course is taught through live online classes, with a tutor, with a master’s degree in mathematical physics. The 30-week class consists of one weekly online class along with weekly homework that is graded by the tutor. This course will cover year 1 of the Edexcel iGCSE Physics course.

This course is eligible for USA High School Diploma & Transcript credit.  Students successfully completing this course will receive 1 high school Science credit.

iGCSE Physics Year 1 Course Details

In the class, we will complete the Edexcel iGCSE Physics curriculum for year 1 over the course of 30 weeks in our live online sessions. Year 2 (planned for 25-26) will cover the remainder of the curriculum.

Day & Time: Tuesdays 15:30-17:00 (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in between.)

Location: Zoom Meeting

Tutor: Hannah Smith

Required Materials:

• Edexcel iGCSE Physics course text
• This scientific calculator (or similar)

Prerequisites: Needs to be confident in maths and working at an iGCSE or equivalent level.

The First Year of iGCSE Physics

Over the year we will cover:

• forces and motion,
• electricity,
• energy resources,
• energy transfer, and
• states of matter.

Crucially, we will also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We will learn how to ask questions and find answers. We will also discover together how an understanding of physical principles can be used to serve others and glorify God.

Please note if you seek to sit the exam you will need to find and register at an exam centre. 

High School Physics Live, Online Class

In iGCSE Physics, your child will gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of creation and an appreciation of the order in the universe. This course will cover year 1 of the Edexcel iGCSE Physics course. It can also be used for the US high school transcript.
