Latin B | Latina Christiana®

For Autumn 2026

Latin B | Latina Christiana is a beginner’s Latin grammar course. It follows on well from Memoria Press’ Prima Latina”, but could also serve as a beginner’s Latin text for able students. Latina Christiana takes the traditional approach to teaching Latin, whereby students learn vocabulary and grammar in a systematic manner, mastering each level before moving on to more complicated work.

Latin B | Latina Christiana® Course Details

Age: This course is aimed at ages 12+, although younger children may be considered with tutor permission. In these cases, a parent may be asked to be available in the background in case the child struggles with any of the technical aspects of learning. Day & Time: Thursdays 9:45-11:15 am UK Time Zone (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in the middle.)

Required Materials for Latin B | Latina Christiana:

• Latina Christiana Student Workbook – Fourth Edition.
• Latina Christiana Review Worksheets – Fourth Edition

Pre-Requisites: While Latina Christiana is geared toward upper primary ages, it is an excellent and logical place to start for students aged 12+ who have completed Latin A Prima Latina, or as a beginner’s course for able students.

In Latin B | Latina Christiana®we will learn:

• 200 Latin words and many English derivatives.
• 25 sayings and two prayers.
• The definition of nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
• The concepts of tense, number, gender, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person.
• How to conjugate 1st and 2nd conjugation verbs in present, imperfect, and future tenses.
• How to decline 1st and 2nd declension nouns and adjectives.
• How to complete Latin sentences so that the subject and verb agree in number and person.
• How to make adjectives and nouns agree in number and gender.
• How to recite and spell the five cases of Latin nouns.

Latina Christiana® may be followed by First Form, Second Form, Third Form, and Fourth Form Latin. The forms may each be counted as one high school credit.
