Beginning Spanish (KS3/Pre-iGCSE)
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, in terms of the number of native speakers, surpassed only by Mandarin Chinese, according to the report from the Cervantes Institute of Spain. In total, 21 nations officially use the language, each with its own accent and adaptations.
Beginning Spanish, a beginner-level/KS3 high school course, will allow students to gain confidence in social situations that correspond to a beginner level of Spanish vocabulary and pronunciation, which is typically found in an American high school year 1 course. Students will learn Spanish through reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This will be done in live, online sessions as small groups or the entire class together. Â
Live courses and homework assignments will include a variety of fun educational resources to reinforce the learning in the weekly live sessions.
Students will also be set weekly work to complete before the next class session, and are encouraged to use the things learned each week at home.
