This class is open for January 2025 enrolment.

In the first semester of iGCSE Combined Science, students learned about cells; diet and digestion; states of matter; elements, compounds, and mixtures; and ionic and covalent bonding. The second semester starts with fuels and hydrocarbons

iGCSE Combined Science

Combined Science is the perfect class for students seeking a balanced understanding of all three sciences. It will be beneficial for those who are unsure of which science to study. We will cover the core concepts of biology, chemistry, and physics as we follow the Cambridge iGCSE Combined Science course.

This course is also eligible for USA High School Diploma & Transcript credit.  Students successfully completing this course will receive 1 high school science credit.

Cambridge Combined Science Year 1 Course Details

In the class, we will complete the Cambridge Combined Science Year 1 curriculum over the course of 30 weeks in our live online sessions. Year 2 (planned for 25-26) will cover the remainder of the curriculum.

Day & Time: Wednesdays 9:30-11:00 am (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in between.)

Location: Zoom Meeting

Tutor: Hannah Smith

Required Materials:

• Cambridge Combined Science text
• This scientific calculator (or similar)

Pre-requisites:  Needs to be confident in maths and working at an iGCSE or equivalent level.

iGCSE Combined Science Live, Online Class Topics Covered

We will answer a wide range of questions from ‘What makes something a living thing?’ to ‘What influence do humans have on the natural world?’, from ‘What makes a solid a solid?’ to ‘Where do our fuels come from?’ and from ‘What is energy?’ to “What is the solar system?’. We will also develop an understanding of the scientific method and how to think like a scientist. We will learn about how discoveries are made and how they are used and can be used for the glory of God.
