Why Learn French?
French is truly a global language, spoken not just in France but across the world. Â There are over 300 million French speakers in the world, with around 75 million being native speakers throughout 29 countries. Â Therefore, learning French provides so many opportunities not just for study, employment, and travel throughout the world, but wonderfully, for living out the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 to go and make disciples of all nations. Â Our God is a speaking God who communicates with us and who created languages and whose own Son is called the Word. Â Understanding and speaking other languages brings blessing and unity in Christ, as it did on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and it looks forward to the New Creation when Christians will be gathered before God from every nation, tribe, people, and language (Rev 7).
Our Arise tutor, Kate Andryev, holds a degree in Spanish & French from The Queen’s College, University of Oxford, and has taught her own home-educated children through A-level and university admission.
