High School GCSE Astronomy – Year 2
For Autumn 2025 Enrolment
GCSE Astronomy Year 2 is for students who have completed Year 1 of GCSE Astronomy and wish to deepen their understanding of the cosmos. We will explore the planets beyond our own, the formation of celestial bodies, and the physics governing stars and galaxies.
Topics include the outer solar system, exoplanets, stellar evolution, multi-body systems, and cosmology. Students will also gain experience in observational astronomy, considering different types of telescopes and detection methods. Throughout, we will reflect on how the heavens declare the glory of God and what we can learn from His creation.

More About GCSE Astronomy Year 1 & Year 2
Our study will take us through the wonders of the Solar System, as we discover the dazzling variety of worlds in our local neighbourhood in the cosmos. Students will also gain experience in observational astronomy, considering different types of telescopes and detection methods.
The course also introduces the high schooler to stargazing, and how to navigate the night sky. We will discuss observational skills used by astronomers to understand and unlock the mysteries of the cosmos.
