Latin 1 | Latin Form 1®

For Autumn 2026

The First Form Series covers all of Latin grammar in four texts. Ideally, students will have completed Memoria Press’ Prima Latina and Latina Christiana courses before this Latin 1 text. However, it may also be appropriate for those who have already been exposed to some Latin via a different curriculum

First Form Latin Year One: Course Description

Day & Time: Thursdays 11:30 am -1 pm UK Timezone (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in the middle.)

Location: Zoom Meeting

Tutor: Jessica Turpin

Required Materials:

• First Form Latin Student Text, 2nd Edition
• First Form Latin workbook, 2nd Edition
• First Form Latin Quizzes & Tests, Second Edition

Pre-Requisites: Latina Christiana. Students will need to be able to keep up with the rigor of this high school honours level course and should expect to spend a minimum of 45 min. day, 5 days a week on homework. Students younger than 13 will need tutor permission to register.

In Latin 1 | Latin Form 1® we will learn:

• First conjugation verbs – present, imperfect, future, perfect, pluperfect and future perfect tenses.
• Second conjugation verbs – present, imperfect, future, perfect, pluperfect, future perfect.
• The irregular verb “sum” in all six present system tenses.
• 1st and 2nd declension nouns and adjectives.
• 3rd, 4th and 5th declension nouns.
• 24 Latin sayings.
• 185 vocabulary words.

Latin 1 | First Form Latin may be followed by Second Form, Third Form, and Fourth Form Latin. The forms may each be counted as one high school credit.
