- Advanced Speech & Drama Grade 6: Expressive, confident performance. Strong vocal delivery. Clear, creative communication.
Day & Time: (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in the middle.) All UK time zones.

Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 4
Grow Confidence. Build Skills. Find Your Voice.
This fun and engaging intermediate Speech and Drama course is designed for students who have either had experience in performance and communication or just love to tell stories and be creative!
Based on the internationally respected Trinity College London syllabus, this course offers a creative and supportive environment where students can grow in confidence, develop expressive communication, and explore their unique voice as performers.
Throughout the Level 4 Speech and Drama course, students will learn:
• Integrate vocal and physical performance skills for clear, confident delivery
• Use pace, pitch, and volume to support storytelling and characterisation
• Apply physicality and movement to enhance meaning and presence on stage
• Show an understanding of mood, phrasing, and technique
• Learn to read aloud expressively, bringing text to life
• Begin to make interpretive choices to shape engaging performances
• Deliver secure, confident presentations with audience awareness
While the course is structured around Trinity College London’s Grade 4 and Grade 5 standards, taking the exam
is completely optional. It can be done in person or remotely via digital submission. The tutor will help organise exams. Exam fees are not included in the price of this course.
Whether preparing for formal assessment or simply pursuing a love of drama and communication, students will leave this course with stronger skills, greater self-assurance, and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.
The Speech and Drama course is perfect for students who want to have fun, grow creatively, and strengthen their presence both on and off the stage whilst doing all of this in a God honouring and non-compromising environment. With materials that are good, moralistic, and fun. Level 4 speech and drama is a great way to expand your creative horizons and the perfect step before a level 5.
While anyone can prepare for this exam, at Arise, this course is most appropriate for ages 10-17. If the student is 18 or older, please inquire about how we can help adult learners wishing to take this course.
Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 5
Find Your Voice. Step Into Character. Speak with Confidence.
This dynamic and engaging intermediate-level Speech and Drama course is designed to help
students further develop their dramatic and storytelling skills while building confidence and
expressive communication.
Based on the Trinity College London curriculum, this course offers a rich blend of performance training and personal growth, ideal for students who want to continue to grow in both the performing arts and everyday communication.
Students will explore a variety of texts and performance styles, learning to:
• Integrate vocal and physical performance techniques to deliver imaginative and accurate interpretations
• Use volume, pace, pitch, and rhythm effectively to support storytelling and character development
• Apply physicality and stage presence to enhance narrative and emotional impact
• Understand and express meaning, mood, and context through vocal and performance technique
• Read aloud with expression and clarity, bringing written words to life
• Make clear interpretive choices that reflect a deeper engagement with the material
• Deliver confident, sustained performances that connect with and engage an audience
This course is ideal for students looking to sharpen their performance abilities while also improving
their confidence, public speaking, and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Students will have the option to sit the Trinity College London Grade 5 examination at the end of the course, though this is not required to participate.

Advanced Speech & Drama – Level 6
(Only available to those who have passed a grade 5 exam or have the equivalent training).
This class is for 32 weeks ending 28 May.
This course prepares students for the Grade 6 Speech & Drama examination from Trinity College London, focusing on advanced communication, performance, and interpretation skills. Students develop confidence in public speaking while refining their ability to analyse and perform dramatic texts.
Whether you want to sit the exam or not, this course is great for expanding your skills and building confidence.
Throughout the course, students study a range of dramatic and literary material and learn how to interpret character, mood, and meaning. They practise delivering scripted performances with clear vocal technique, expressive movement, and effective stage presence. The course also emphasises critical thinking as students explore themes, language, and dramatic context within their pieces.
In addition to performance work, students strengthen their spoken communication and presentation skills through discussions, prepared talks, and improvisation exercises. This helps them develop confidence in articulating ideas clearly and responding thoughtfully to questions.
Advanced Speech & Drama – Grade 6 Course requirements:
Please note that Grade 6 is a harder and more demanding skill-wise than Grade 5. Since this grade offers UCAS points, a higher level of attention, skill, and personal work is expected.
By the end of Advanced Speech & Drama – Level 6, students will be able to:
- Perform contrasting dramatic pieces with confidence and expression
- Demonstrate strong voice control, articulation, and projection
- Analyse and discuss literary and dramatic texts
- Communicate ideas clearly in formal speaking situations
- Show creativity and imagination in performance
The course equips students with valuable skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and expressive communication, while preparing them successfully for the Grade 6 Trinity Speech & Drama examination.
