Speech & Drama Level 4 or 5

For Autumn 2025 Enrolment

These fun and engaging intermediate Speech and Drama courses are designed for students who have either had basic/general experience in performance and communication (i.e., church play, theatre club/homeschool co-op, etc.) or just love to tell stories and be creative!

• Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 4: Grow Your Confidence. Build Skills. Find Your Voice.
• Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 5: Find Your Voice. Step Into Character. Speak with Confidence.

Day & Time:  (Two 40-minute sessions with a short break in the middle.)

• Speech & Drama Grade 4: Wednesdays 11 am-12:30 pm GMT
• Speech & Drama Grade 5: Wednesdays 12:45-2:15 pm GMT

Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 4

Grow Confidence. Build Skills. Find Your Voice.

This fun and engaging intermediate Speech and Drama course is designed for students who have either had experience in performance and communication or just love to tell stories and be creative!

Based on the internationally respected Trinity College London syllabus, this course offers a creative and supportive environment where students can grow in confidence, develop expressive communication, and explore their unique voice as performers.

Throughout the Level 4 Speech and Drama course, students will learn:

• Integrate vocal and physical performance skills for clear, confident delivery
• Use pace, pitch, and volume to support storytelling and characterisation
• Apply physicality and movement to enhance meaning and presence on stage
• Show an understanding of mood, phrasing, and technique
• Learn to read aloud expressively, bringing text to life
• Begin to make interpretive choices to shape engaging performances
• Deliver secure, confident presentations with audience awareness

While the course is structured around Trinity College London’s Grade 4 standards, taking the exam
is completely optional. It can be done in person or remotely via digital submission.  The tutor will help organise exams. Exam fees are not included in the price of this course.

Whether preparing for formal assessment or simply pursuing a love of drama and communication, students will leave this course with stronger skills, greater self-assurance, and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.

The Speech and Drama course is perfect for students who want to have fun, grow creatively, and strengthen their presence both on and off the stage whilst doing all of this in a God honouring and non-compromising environment. With materials that are good, moralistic, and fun. Level 4 speech and drama is a great way to expand your creative horizons and the perfect step before a level 5.

While anyone can prepare for this exam, at Arise, this course is most appropriate for ages 10-17. If the student is 18 or older, please inquire about how we can help adult learners wishing to take this course.

Intermediate Speech & Drama – Level 5

Find Your Voice. Step Into Character. Speak with Confidence.

This dynamic and engaging intermediate-level Speech and Drama course is designed to help
students further develop their dramatic and storytelling skills while building confidence and
expressive communication.

Based on the Trinity College London curriculum, this course offers a rich blend of performance training and personal growth, ideal for students who want to continue to grow in both the performing arts and everyday communication.

Students will explore a variety of texts and performance styles, learning to:

• Integrate vocal and physical performance techniques to deliver imaginative and accurate interpretations
• Use volume, pace, pitch, and rhythm effectively to support storytelling and character development
• Apply physicality and stage presence to enhance narrative and emotional impact
• Understand and express meaning, mood, and context through vocal and performance technique
• Read aloud with expression and clarity, bringing written words to life
• Make clear interpretive choices that reflect a deeper engagement with the material
• Deliver confident, sustained performances that connect with and engage an audience

This course is ideal for students looking to sharpen their performance abilities while also improving
their confidence, public speaking, and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Students will have the option to sit the Trinity College London Grade 5 examination at the end of the course, though this is not required to participate.

Whether you’re preparing for the stage, school presentations, or just want to express yourself more confidently, this course is a fantastic next step in your speech and drama journey. Whilst doing all of this in a God honouring and non-compromising environment. With materials that are good, moralistic, and fun. Level 5 speech and drama is a great way to continue expanding and growing your creative horizons.

Exam levels 6-8 are eligible for UCAS points. If you have already completed levels 4 and 5 and are interested in these higher levels, please contact us for additional information on how Arise can help you prepare for these exams and earn UCAS points.
