KS3 General Science Year 2 for Ages 12+

KS3 General Science with a Christian worldview.

This self-paced course will be ready for students to begin in September 2026.

Following the UK national curriculum, KS3 General Science Year 2 continues from KS3 General Science Year 1, and prepares for iGCSE sciences, and is taught from a Christian perspective. This 32-week course will be split between Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The course consists of weekly video lessons, worksheets, and hands-on activities, which are created to be easily achievable by an average home-educating family. There are end-of-unit tests and mini-quizzes to help solidify learning.

Throughout this self-paced course, we will be looking at how the science points to intelligent design and the hallmarks of a Creator.

This secondary school science curriculum lays the foundation your child needs to advance to iGCSE/GCSE science. It is suitable for students aged 12, ready for KS3 Year 2 level work (US 8th grade).

In the self-paced KS3 General Science Year 2 course, we believe that students learn best when their curiosity is encouraged, and they have an opportunity for independent, in-depth exploration. To encourage this, students will create projects, reports, and their own science experiment notebook as part of the class.

This course offers an engaging and interactive learning experience, where students not only gain a deeper understanding of the sciences but also develop essential skills in research, analysis, and contextualizing scientific ideas.

Once this foundation is laid, we will explore Biology:

1. Photosynthesis and the Carbon Cycle
2. Active transport
3. Systems of the Human Body: Reproduction and Renal
4. Plants: transport systems
5. Ecosystems
6. DNA and inheritance

Then we will engage in Chemistry:

1. The periodic table: Trends in the table
2. Chemical reactions: Why compounds form
3. Salts
4. Energy changes in chemical reactions
5. Reactivity series and displacement reactions

Finally, we will navigate Physics:

1. Forces in motion: Newton’s Laws
2. Gravity
3. Light waves
4. Electricity: circuits
5. Magnetism
6. The Physics of Matter
7. Space Physics

Throughout the course, we will be looking at how the science points to intelligent design and the hallmarks of a Creator.
